Starting off with a Rainy Tuesday

Good Morning from Morning Meteorologist…

We started off with a beautiful day across the Big Country but around 3 pm showers and thunderstorms popped up in our Eastern counties along a stationary front. This morning it is not our Eastern counties that are seeing the rain but our Western counties this is due to a shortwave that has made its way down through the north/northeast flow aloft.

We will see a wet start to our Tuesday with the showers and thunderstorms moving from northeast to southwest across west central Texas. Although we have not seen any watches or warnings we are still seeing some moderate to heavy rain in areas so be careful of ponding on the roadways. We will see the activity stick around through the morning with the best chance of the showers and thunderstorms through the day in our western and southern counties. Because of more cloud cover and rain cooled air temperatures won’t make it out of the mid 80’s.

We will keep in a twenty percent chance of thunderstorms for Wednesday with plenty of moisture and the possibility of more disturbances passing through the area. Over the next couple days rain chances will die out for most of us however I will keep in a slight chance of thunderstorms for Thursday and Friday in our southern counties where abundant moisture will be flowing in. If we get heating of the day or any disturbance storms could pop up. Temperatures will return back to the upper 80’s to low 90’s.

Come the weekend we could see a front approach the area. Because of this possibility I have kept a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms from Saturday through Monday.

For the rest of the week highs will be in the low 90’s with lows in the lower 70’s.

Have a great morning!
