Thursday Night Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

The hot and humid conditions remained in the Big Country today. Highs were in the low 90s with dewpoints still in the mid 60s to mid 70s. No rain has moved through the area yet today, but we have a good chance at rain tomorrow.

A weak cold front is still expected to move through the region Friday evening. Upper level disturbances should also move through the area. Our chance for rain is 40% during the day, but increases to 50% for the night. Heavy rain is possible as well as some severe thunderstorms. Highs tomorrow will likely be in the upper 80s to low 90s.

We could see some lingering showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. The chance for rain is 30%. Highs should be in the mid to upper 80s.

It looks like an upper level low may try to develop and move around the Lone Star State Sunday through much of next week. It is a little early to tell exactly where this low will be since it hasn't developed yet. Rain chances will depend heavily on where it goes. For now, the chance of rain is 20%. That could increase though as we get closer to that time period. Highs are expected to be in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Have a fantastic Friday!
