Friday Forecast

Good Morning everyone from Morning Meteorologist Kristen Connolly…

Yesterday was hot and humid across the Big Country. Temperatures rose into the low 90’s with overall partly cloudy skies. The overnight started off calm but as we approached dawn showers began to push in from the west along a trough bring heavier rainfall especially in Stonewall, Fisher and Knox counties.

It looks like Mother Nature might be bringing some more gloomy weather for Friday the 13th. At the surface a cold front is making a shove towards the Big Country along with a trough staying to the west. The front should washout by tomorrow with the trough staying around Texas till Sunday. In the upper levels we continue to see northwest and north flow aloft which will bring a few disturbances- only helping the rain chances. With the many dynamics in place rain chances will increase through out the day along with the cloud cover. Because of this temperatures will stay only in the upper 80’s.

Saturday may be a good time to hit the movies and make sure to bring the umbrella! We will continue to see Mostly Cloudy skies with a thirty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the temperatures will stay in the upper 80’s with lows in the upper 60’s.

By Sunday we will see the possibility of another upper level low form over North Texas. If this pans out it will only help fuel the rain chances for the beginning of next week as well as keeping temperatures steadily in the upper 80’s.

Have a good weekend!
