Friday Update

Good Morning from Morning Meteorologist Kristen Connolly…

Yesterday a lot of cloud cover blanketed the Big Country with the showers popping up in our Southern Counties. Today those who have not seen the rain will join in the activity so grab that umbrella on your way to work.

The upper level low that has impacted our weather throughout the week continues to churn just below the border. It will make a nudge to the northwest through the weekend. With its counter clockwise rotation more moisture will only continue to push in and with that better cloud cover and rain chances. Along with the upper level low on the surface we have a front that will push down through the plains and end up in Oklahoma by tonight. If this front can get into our area we will see better rain chances from the north.
With these factors in play Friday will be a cloudy and rainy one for most of the area. Temperatures will also stay cooler with highs in the low 80’s and lows in the upper 60’s. You many want to grab a good book or catch a movie.

Saturday mostly cloudy skies may alter your outdoor plans along with still seeing the chance for showers and thunderstorms. Hopefully by Sunday we can get a break with more sunshine and a bit warmer temperatures. Highs for the weekend will be mid 80’s with lows around 69 degrees.

Through next week we will keep a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms with temperatures in the lower 90’s.

Have a good weekend!
