Thursday Evening Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

Mostly cloudy skies dominated the Big Country today. Our temperatures have remained below average this afternoon because of it. Highs were in the mid to upper 80s. Once again, there have been some isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms in the southern portions of the viewing area.

A low pressure trough continues to sit to our south. The combination of that feature as well as an approaching cold front to the north this weekend will help increase our rain chances. The entire area has a 30% chance of rain tomorrow and Saturday. By Sunday, the chance for rain will fall a bit to 20%. Highs look to be in the upper 80s to low 90s.

By early next week, we should see a cut-off upper level low develop and move into the Lone Star State. Our chance for rain is 20%, but that could increase as we get closer to Monday. Highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Have a fantastic Friday!
