Tuesday Afternoon Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

Cooler temperatures returned to the Big Country today thanks to mostly cloudy skies and some rain. Highs ranged from the mid to upper 80s. Portions of the viewing area have seen as much as 2 to 3 inches of rain since yesterday evening. Abilene Regional Airport received about half an inch.

Showers and thunderstorms can't be ruled out for the rest of the week due to the current pattern. We remain in a north-northeast flow aloft. This means that occasional upper level disturbances could move into the region. With moisture still in place, showers and thunderstorms will be possible. We could also see an upper level low develop in the Lone Star State late in the work week and hang out through at least the weekend. For now, our chance for rain is 20% but that could increase as we get closer to the end of the week. Highs should be in upper 80s to low 90s.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
