Keep The Umbrellas Close

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had some showers and thunderstorms move through portions of the Big Country again today thanks to an upper level low. It has been moving close to and through the area since late last night. Mostly cloudy skies and rain helped keep our highs in the 80s this afternoon.

The upper level low is expected to slowly drift towards and into the Big Bend region and west Texas this weekend. We will continue to have a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds are possible at times. Highs should be in the mid to upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies.

With plenty of moisture expected to remain in place and occasional upper level disturbances possibly moving across the area, showers and thunderstorms can't be ruled out any day next week. The chance for rain is 20% for Monday through next Friday. Highs look to be in the low 90s.

Have a super Saturday!
