Tuesday Afternoon Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had another beautiful day across the Big Country today. Highs were in the upper 80s to low 90s so we remained below average for this time of year. Our dewpoints were up a bit today in the mid 60s to around 70 which made it feel a little more uncomfortable compared to the last couple of days.

A low pressure trough continues to sit over southeast Texas. It will move west-southwest towards northern Mexico tomorrow and Thursday. This will give our southeastern communties a slight chance at showers and thunderstorms. Highs should be in the low 90s.

A better chance for rain across the entire area will be with us Friday through Sunday. A weak cold front is expected to be close to and possibly in the region during that time period. Fronts have a hard time getting this far south this time of year so it will likely not make it into the Big Country. The front will not have much of an impact, if any, on our temperatures, but it will increase our rain chance to 20%. Highs look to be in the low 90s.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
