Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July from morning meteorologist Kristen Connolly…

Through the overnight we have seen a break in the activity. But the rain is not gone yet. Again for our holiday we will see mostly cloudy skies with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The best chance will be in our southern and eastern counties. The low has been pushing more south through Texas and will continue on its path. A few of our counties have been dropped from the flash flood watch those counties include: Fisher, Nolan, Jones, Taylor and Coke. We will again see a few breaks in the clouds today so not ruling out some sunshine which will help reach temperatures in the mid 80's.

Overnight we will keep lows in the upper 60's with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Through the next few days we will keep the rain chances still in the forecast. Highs will increase a few degrees each day hitting the low 90's by early next week.

This low will continue to push south and southwest and may make a return back to west central Texas early next week. This will only mean more rain chance because of that I will keep a 20 % chance of rain in the seven day forecast however may have to boost the chances up in the next couple days.

Have a wonderful Independence Day!
