Much Colder Temperatures On The Horizon

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had a cold start to the day with temperatures in the mid 20s to low 30s. By this afternoon, it was mild for this time of year with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Wind direction is the main difference expected tomorrow with south-southwest winds at 5 to 15 mph.

A strong cold front should move through the area on Wednesday bringing us the coldest temperatures we have had in almost two weeks. Highs look to be in the upper 40s to low 50s. There is a slight chance of rain for mainly the eastern and southeastern portions of the viewing area. That is where the best moisture will be in the region when the front arrives.

We could see the rain transition to some snow flurries for the area overnight Wednesday into early Thursday morning. Again, it is only a slight chance at this time to see some precipitation during this time period. It will be a cold start for us on Thursday with temperatures in the low to mid 20s. Highs that afternoon will only warm up into the low to mid 40s.

Friday and Saturday look dry with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s under mostly sunny skies.

We could see a weak cold front move through the Big Country on Sunday. This should only cool us down a few degrees and no precipitation is expected at this time. Highs will be in the low 50s.

Have a terrific Tuesday!
