A Half and Half Weekend

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

Today started off cold with temperatures in the low to mid 20s across the area. By this afternoon we mainly warmed up into the upper 40s to 50. The southeastern portions of the viewing area were a bit colder due to overcast skies that lingered throughout the day. There was some light rain, sleet and snow in that area as well. There was very little, if any, accumulation.

A reinforcing cold front will move through the area tonight. This means cooler temperatures for us tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 40s under mostly sunny skies. Precipitaiton is not expected with the front.

Sunday looks to be warmer and windy. Highs should be in the mid to upper 50s under mostly sunny skies.

We will have a 20% chance of showers on Monday as another cold front approaches the area. Highs are expected to make into the mid to upper 50s before the front arrives Monday night.

Tuesday will be much colder with highs only reaching the low 40s under partly cloudy skies. There is a 20% chance of rain during the day. We will be keeping a close eye overnight Monday night into early Tuesday morning since there could be some light freezing drizzle or light freezing rain.

The 20% chance of rain will continue Wednesday and Thursday due to some upper level disturbances possibly moving across the region. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.

Have a wonderful weekend!
