Winter starting off chilly!

Good Morning from Morning Meteorologist Kristen Connolly…

Winter officially begins today at 6:22 pm and the temperatures this morning are a quick reminder of what season we are transitioning too. However, by the afternoon we will stay mild making it into the upper 50’s. With plenty of sunshine there are no problems for all the kids that will begin Christmas break this afternoon, nor anyone who is out doing there last minute shopping! Tomorrow the beautiful conditions will continue and it won’t be until the weekend where the next change will embark.

Another front will pass through the area cooling us off for the weekend and along with it we will see another low pressure system move towards the Texas/New Mexico/Mexico border. Snow/rain chances aren’t looking as promising as the past few days but still the best chance is Saturday night in Sunday. The best chance of precipitation will most likely occur towards our Southern Counties. The one thing you will need is the gloves and scarf, overnight lows will be in upper 20’s with highs reaching upper 40’s.

The clouds will begin to clear out by the beginning of the week with Christmas looking pleasant with temperatures in the lower 50’s. Tuesday and Wednesday we will warm the highs to upper 50’s.

Have a great day!
