Hot & Humid Today, Hotter Weather Ahead:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Hot and humid on this Memorial Day across West Central Texas with high temperatures climbing into the middle 90s this afternoon under a mostly sunny sky. We'll watch the radar for a very isolated shower or storm that may try to pop up but the rain chance is not looking good. A few clouds tonight with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

* The Week Ahead: Hot and humid conditions will continue into the week with temperatures gradually warming from the middle 90s into the upper 90s and low 100s by the late part of the week. Warm at night with lows in the lower 70s. Again rain chances look very low but we'll keep an eye out if a very isolated storm does develop but the dynamics upstairs (the cap or warm layer of air aloft that inhibits storm development) don't look promising for storm development. Expect a partly cloudy sky each day.

* The Weekend: Even hotter temperatures for the upcoming weekend with highs between 100-105° each day under a partly cloudy sky. This looks to be the warmest temperatures we will see so far for 2010 for the upcoming weekend. Forecast looks to remain dry and perhaps a bit humid.

* Drought Information: West Central Texas remains well above normal on rainfall this year so no drought issues here locally at the present time. The data is updated by the government every Thursday morning around 7:30 AM local time.
