A Stray Storm Today, Warm & Humid:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Cloudy start this morning but we'll become partly cloudy later this morning. We have several outflow boundaries from the storms yesterday and last night hanging around the region so with daytime heating we'll probably see a storm or two develop this afternoon. Storms will not be quite as widespread as we saw yesterday. Highs today into the lower and middle 90s. A few evening storms still around, otherwise partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

* Warming up for tomorrow and into the weekend with upper 90s tomorrow and into the triple digits over the weekend. We'll keep an eye on the record book as we will be flirting with record high temperatures over the weekend. One thing of note is the rain we have seen will keep tempatures a degree or two cooler which is normally the case in hot weather situations when it rains. Having said that it will still be very warm with highs between 100-105° over the weekend and a bit humid. We should be mostly sunny each day.

* Next Week: Still hot with highs in the upper 90s into early next week and for now the long range forecast looks dry for our area. Lows at night into the lower to middle 70s.

* Drought Information: West Central Texas remains well above normal on rainfall this year so no drought issues here locally at the present time. For the latest drought information for the state of Texas please visit the U.S Drought Monitor website by clicking here. The data is updated by the government every Thursday morning around 7:30 AM local time.
