Hot, Muggy & Dry Weather In Place:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Quiet weather in place across West Central Texas and don't expect much change for the next seven days across the region. Warm and humid again today with a few clouds across the area with highs in the middle 90s. Partly cloudy tonight and muggy with lows in the middle 70s. An area of high pressure over the Gulf of Mexico is pumping plenty of moisture up across Texas so we'll stay humid into the weekend. Mostly sunny into the weekend with highs in the middle and upper 90s with overnight lows in the lower to middle 70s.

* Next Week: Hot and dry weather into the first half of next week with highs in the middle to upper 90s and overnight lows in the middle 70s. Mostly sunny conditions expected across the region each day. Monday is also the first day of summer. The Summer Solstice will occur at 6:28 A.M. local time.

* Event Forecasts: Weather looks great for the annual Fort Griffin Fandangle up in Albany and the 73rd annual Coleman PRCA Rodeo the next few evenings. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy but it will be muggy with temperatures in the lower 90s and dropping into the middle 80s by the end of the events. Have a great time! Great weather on Sunday as well for Father's Day.

* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the very hot weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
