Storm Chances Continue:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Mostly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms today across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley today. Locally heavy rainfall is possible with storms that develop. Otherwise expect a mostly cloudy and humid day with highs ranging from the lower to upper 80s. Scattered storms will still be possible tonight across the area with lows in the upper 60s/low 70s under a mostly cloudy sky.

* Keeping rain chances in the forecast for the rest of the week and into the holiday weekend as moisture from Alex streams across Texas. Models bring what moisture is left after the landfall of Alex by the weekend into West Central and Southwest Texas. Combined with daytime heating there is a slight chance for storms. Highs warm back into the upper 80s and lower 90s with overnight lows in the uppper 60s. There is a slight chance for storms over the holiday weekend.

* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the very hot weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
