Spring Returns !!!

From KRBC Chief Meteorologist Randy Turner .....

A mysterious golden glow filled the skies over Abilene this afternoon. It appeared to be a rare phenomenon called sunshine.

With the clouds finally thinning out, warmer weather is in our immediate future.

Tonight, a few clouds with lows in the middle 50's.

Wednesday, a mix of sun and clouds with a southeast wind at 10 to 20. High near 82.

Changes coming Thursday with the approach of a large low pressure area settling into the southwestern U.S. The low will increase the flow of Gulf of Mexico moisture across our area and into the South Plains of the U.S. As the low progresses across the Rockies, into the Plains, a cold front will move into the Big Country late Thursday, bringing thunderstorms to the area.

We are in a Slight Risk for Severe Thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Some could produce large hail and damaging winds. After all, this is the heart of severe weather season, and this would mark the first real severe threat we have seen.

But it is a fast-moving system ... east and out of here by Friday morning, taking the rain with it.

Highs Thursday near 80 followed by the mid to upper 70's for Friday through the weekend.

The weekend looks very nice as of now ... sunshine, warm and dry.
