Another Nice Day Ahead:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Chilly out there this morning with temperatures in the lower to middle 40s as I write this forecast update. I would not be surprised if a few spots briefly dip into the upper 30s since we have a mostly clear sky and very light wind. Another nice day ahead for the area with mostly sunny conditions and highs climbing into the lower and middle 70s. Mostly clear and not quite as cool tonight with lows dropping into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

* Still looking good for the rest of the week with a partly cloudy sky and warming up for the middle and late week. Highs climb back into the 80s and lows returning to the 50s. We still have a chance for thunderstorms Thursday night and Friday morning as a dryline advances into the area ahead of a cold front. The best chance for storms looks to be east of Abilene across the eastern areas of the Big Country.

* The Weekend: Partly cloudy each day over the weekend with highs in the middle 80s and lows in the lower 50s. There is a slight chance for a thunderstorm on Saturday but once again the best chance looks to be across the eastern counties. We do have the the Dyess Big Country Airfest on Saturday at Dyess AFB and I think the weather should be just fine for the event.

* The Week Ahead: We'll stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy each day this week. Cooler on Tuesday with highs in the lower 70s and lows in the 40s.
* Drought Information: Thankfully West Central Texas remains above normal on rainfall this year so no drought issues here locally at the present time. For the latest drought information for the state of Texas please visit the U.S Drought Monitor website by clicking here. The data is updated by the government every Thursday morning around 7:30 AM local time.
