Cloudy Intervals, Hit & Miss Storms:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteoroloigst Chris Whited...

* Finally managed to get a few storms to pop up across the region yesterday and we'll watch for a few to pop up today across the area. With no organized lifing mechanisms (like a front, etc.) in the area the storms will just pop up in random locations so it's pretty hard to isolated exactly where the rain chances will materialize. A batch of high to mid-level clouds are drifting across the area. We may still see a few peaks on sunshine but expect today to be mostly cloudy around the area with a few isolated storms in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 70s and lows tonight in the middle 50s.

* Warm and humid weather pattern continues to remain in place for late week and into the weekend with rain chances still in the forecast. An area of high pressure still sits to the east and will slowly start to drift eastward some which should allow a weak front to finally drift in from the north this weekend which should help enhance rain chances. Clockwise flow around the high pressure will continue to pump moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into Texas. Daytime heating will trigger thunderstorms chances each day from now and into the weekend. The best storms chances will be during the day with isolated storm chances at night. High temperatures the rest of the week will be in the lower to middle 70s with overnight lows in the middle to upper 50s.

* Severe Weather: With the storms in the forecast the threat for an organized severe weather threat remain low. The above mentioned high will block any upper level systems from working in from the west. The jetstream pattern will take these systems to our north. As the high drifts east a weak front will move in from the north over the weekend but we still expect a low threat of severe weather. This is still April so any thunderstorms that do develop could be strong or could briefly reach severe limits.
