Periods of Rain, A Few Storms Possible Today:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteoroloigst Chris Whited...

* Showers and thunderstorms continue across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley this morning and will remain in place through the day today. The threat for severe weather is low but heavy rainfall has been producing some minor flooding in areas. Be on the alert for quick flash flooding issues today. The rain chances will continue tonight across the area with heavy rainfall still possible. Highs today will hold into the 60s with lows tonight into the 50s.

* The Weekend: Showers and thunderstorms will continue into the weekend for the area. A cold front will drop into the area Saturday morning and will help lift the moisture and create more rain chances so a wet Saturday is ahead. The rain chances drop back some by Sunday but still some showers and a few storms still in the area. The severe weather threat remains low for the weekend but watch out for flash flooding issues with heavier rainfall. Highs in the 60s and lows int he 40s this weekend.

* Next Week: Some sunshine peaks out next week but we still keep a slight chance or two for showers and thunderstorm next week. Highs will slowly climb back into the 70s for next week and lows each night into the middle 50s.
