A Wet Start To March:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Scattered rain showers will continue this morning and gradually end heading into the afternoon as a low pressure center moves across West Central Texas. A weak cold front will also drift into the area so temperatures should fall gradually thoughout the day with highs in the upper 40s this morning and ending up in the upper 30s and low 40s by afternoon. I still think temperatures are not cold enough for wintry precipitation so I am making no mention of it here in my forecast package. Clouds will slowly decrease overnight but it will be colder with lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s.

* The Week Ahead: The sunshine returns on Tuesday as well as milder temperatures. Highs into Friday will range between the middle 50s and the lower 60s with overnight lows warming up into the 40s. The forecast for Tuesday - Thursdays is dry and rather nice here in the early part of March. Clouds will increase by Friday with a chance for showers across the area.

* The Weekend: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers possible across the region for Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures are in the low 60s for highs and lows in the 40s and 50s so no threat of wintry weather.

* The Winter Outlook: The Climate Prediction Center indicates a moderate El NiƱo pattern continues to bring West Central Texas a wetter pattern here in the winter months. Increased wintry precipitation is possible depending on temperature trends. Equal chances of above or below normal temperatures remain possible for the area.
