Sunny & Windy Day Ahead:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Quiet morning out there other than the winds are picking up and will stay up during the day today across the region. Expect a sunny and warm day as highs climb well into the middle and even a few upper 70s. Windy conditions throughout the day as southwest winds will range between 15-25 miles per hour and perhaps a little higher at times with the stronger gusts. Elevated fire weather issues will be in place as well as the moisture from the rains yesterday will be well evaportated and things have dried out. Expect areas of blowing dust again.

* The winds ease late in the week as well as the temperatures as highs drop back into the lower 60s and lows at night dip into the upper 30s. These numbers are a little below normal for this time of year but not too much. A few clouds out there in the sky heading into the late week.

* Weekend: A very nice weekend with a mostly sunny sky. Highs on Saturday in the low 60s and upper 60s on Sunday. Lows in the upper 30s. If you're heading to the annual Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup the weather looks great!

A Wet Start To March:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Scattered rain showers will continue this morning and gradually end heading into the afternoon as a low pressure center moves across West Central Texas. A weak cold front will also drift into the area so temperatures should fall gradually thoughout the day with highs in the upper 40s this morning and ending up in the upper 30s and low 40s by afternoon. I still think temperatures are not cold enough for wintry precipitation so I am making no mention of it here in my forecast package. Clouds will slowly decrease overnight but it will be colder with lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s.

* The Week Ahead: The sunshine returns on Tuesday as well as milder temperatures. Highs into Friday will range between the middle 50s and the lower 60s with overnight lows warming up into the 40s. The forecast for Tuesday - Thursdays is dry and rather nice here in the early part of March. Clouds will increase by Friday with a chance for showers across the area.

* The Weekend: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers possible across the region for Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures are in the low 60s for highs and lows in the 40s and 50s so no threat of wintry weather.

* The Winter Outlook: The Climate Prediction Center indicates a moderate El Niño pattern continues to bring West Central Texas a wetter pattern here in the winter months. Increased wintry precipitation is possible depending on temperature trends. Equal chances of above or below normal temperatures remain possible for the area.
