Strong to Severe Storms Today & Tonight:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Severe thunderstorms are likely across the Big County, Heartland and Northern Concho Valley today and tonight as both a dryline and an upper level storm system move into West Central Texas. Given the instability and wind shear likely, storms that do develop may quickly reach severe levels. Although all of West Central Texas will see a threat of severe storms, there is an enhanced threat area along and north of a San Angelo to Brownwood line or roughly along and north of US 67. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threat. However, especially in the enhanced threat area, there will be the potential for very large hail perhaps golfball to baseball size and isolated tornadoes as well.

* KRBC Forecast:

Today: Mostly Cloudy with Scattered T-Storms. Some Storms Severe
Highs: 80-83
Wind: SE 15-25
Rain Chance: 40%
Severe Weather Threat: Slight (SPC Outlook)

Tonight: Showers & T-Storms. Some Storms Severe
Lows: 64-67
Wind: S 15-25

Severe Weather Threat: Slight (SPC Outlook)

Thursday: Rain Ending Early, Decreasing Clouds & Warmer

* Stay with KRBC throughout the day for the lastest on the severe weather threat and of course I will have an complete forecast this morning on West Texas Today...
