Severe Weather Expected Thursday

FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ..

Consider this your "Heads Up" for the potential for severe weather late Thursday and Thursday night across the Big Country. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all the KRBC viewing area in a Slight Risk for severe storms while from Abilene northeast toward Breckenridge and Throckmorton the risk is greater, in the Moderate category. Damaging hail, high wind and isolated tornadoes will all be possible Thursday and Thursday night. Heavy rain will also fall from many of the storms. Once the storms push east Thursday night, a strong cold front blows through making for windy and cooler weather Friday. Weekend weather, however, still looks nice.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy, highs middle 80's, gusty south wind with a 40% chance of late storms.

Thursday Night: Severe thunderstorms likely areawide, more prominent from Abilene east and south. Low 45.

Friday: Gusty north wind, partly cloudy, middle 60's.

Weekend: Sunny and warm, middle 70's.
