NICE WEATHER TO BEGIN THE WEEK

FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST RANDY TURNER ..

THE RAIN IS OVER FOR A WHILE HERE IN THE BIG COUNTRY TONIGHT. STORMS WHICH DEVELOPED ALONG AND BEHIND A COLD FRONT LAST NIGHT CARRIED INTO MID-DAY ACROSS MUCH OF THE BIG COUNTRY. RAIN AMOUNTS VARY CONSIDERABLY FROM A QUARTER INCH TO SEVERAL INCHES. SOME OF THE HEAVIEST RAIN FELLFROM SWEETWATER TO ROBERT LEE TO BALLINGER AND SOUTHERN COLEMAN COUNTY WHILE THE LIGHTEST RAINS TENDED TO BE NORTH OF I-20.

NEXT COMES SOME VERY COOL TEMPERATURES TO GREET US TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING. LOWS TONIGHT DROP TO AROUND 40 DEGREES WHICH IS ABOUT 15 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

DRY WEATHER IS FORECAST THROUGH THE WORK WEEK. THURSDAY IS THE NEXT MAJOR SYSTEM BUT AS OF NOW ALL SIGNS POINT TO THE RAIN STAYING NORTHEAST OF US BUT WE'LL KEEP AN EYE ON THAT. BY NEXT SUNDAY, MORE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE.

TONIGHT: CLEAR AND VERY COOL, AROUND 40 WITH LIGHT WIND.
MONDAY: SUNSHINE AND 77 WITH SOUTHWEST WIND 5 TO 15.
MONDAY NIGHT: CLEAR AND 51.
