Winter Weather Issues Today...

From Meteorologist Chris Whited in the KRBC Triple Doppler Weather Center...

...Winter Weather Advisory for Knox, Haskell, Throckmorton, Fisher, Jones, Shackelford, Nolan, Tayor and Callahan County from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM CST...

... Winter Weather Advisory extended to include Brown, Coleman, Runnels and Coke County as well as of 8:00 AM this morning. The advisory for these counties is also in effect until 6:00 PM CST...

...Snow Advisory for Stephens and Eastland County from Noon until 3:00 AM CST Friday morning...

* Precipitation will develop this morning as a mix of rain and snow with some sleet possibly mixed in at times. As the air just above the surface cools, precipitation will change over to all snow after lunchtime. Some accumulation will be possible across the northern areas of the Big Country (I will us US Hwy. 180 and northward as the boundary) while ground temperatures will be a little too warm southward. Having said that, just like earlier this week, we could see some light accumulation of grassy spots in areas along Interstate 20. Temperatures will hold in the middle to lower 30s across the area today.

* Light snow will continue into the evening before tapering off this evening. Overnight will be cloudy and cool with lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

* Looking ahead a nice warming trend as we head into the weekend and early next week with highs climbing back to the lower 70s. Another chance of rain will enter the picture Monday and Monday night for the area.

* Time change: Don't forget the time changes this weekend. You may recall Congress passed the law to extend Daylight Saving Time so it will start earlier now in March and the time will not change again until November. Remember.... "Spring Forward" ahead one hour at 2:00 AM on Saturday Night/Early Sunday morning.

* Enjoy your day and stay with KRBC for the latest on the weather situation throughout the day.
