Thursday Afternoon Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

The plesant conditions continued for us today. In fact, we were a little cooler this afternoon with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. It was a little breezy with winds from the north-northwest.

With light to calm winds, clear skies, and a dry airmass expected to be in place tonight, there is a potential for frost in the viewing area tonight. The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Knox, Stephens, Eastland, Comanche, Brown, Coleman and Runnels counties from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning. Everyone in the viewing area, especially those in low-lying areas, should protect their plants tonight. If you don't cover your sensitive outdoor plants, they could be killed. With cold temperatures expected tonight, you will probably want to bring in your pets too. Lows look to be in the mid to upper 30s.

Friday should be beautiful with light winds, comfortable conditions and sunny skies. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid 70s. If you are heading out to a football game tomorrow night, you may want to take a jacket with you since cool temperatures are expected.

A cold front will likely move through the area on Saturday. This means cooler temperatures for us this weekend. Highs should be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Unfortunately, we will not see any rain because the air will too dry to support it.

The first half of next week looks dry as well with highs temperatures warming up from the upper 60s on Monday to the mid 70s by next Thursday.

Have a fantastic Friday!
