Warm Start, But A Cool End For The Week Ahead

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

It was a warm and windy day across the Big Country today. Highs reached the upper 70s to low 80s. Winds gusts were near 30 mph in some parts of the area.

Similar conditions to what we experienced today will be around for tomorrow. We should have partly cloudy skies with highs in the low 80s. Winds look to be from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts expected. Most of the viewing area is under a Lake Wind Advisory and Fire Weather Watch tomorrow. The counties not under this advisory and watch at this time are Knox, Stonewall, Scurry, Mitchell, Stephens, Eastland, and Comanche. With the fire danger high tomorrow, please be very careful.

Changes come our way on Halloween. A cold front should move through the area late Monday night and into Tuesday. Highs look to be much cooler in the mid to upper 60s.

Wednesday should be a little warmer with highs in the upper 60s and partly cloudy skies.

Another cold front may move through the area late Wednesday into early Thursday. Highs should only reach the upper 50s Thursday and Friday. We may have just enough moisture in place when a disturbance arrives during this time period. The chance for rain right now is 20%.

We will likely warm up a little bit for the weekend with highs in the low to mid 60s under partly cloudy skies.

Have a magnificent Monday!
