Monday Night Update

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had another warm day across the Big Country despite lots of cloud cover. Highs reached the upper 70s to low 80s as breezy conditions remained.

Changes begin tomorrow as a cold front will move through the area tomorrow morning. This will give us much cooler conditions with highs in the low to mid 60s. Breezy conditions will continue with winds from the north at 10 to 20 mph. It will be a little cool for trick-or-treating tomorrow night so you'll probably want to wear a jacket or long sleeves if you are going to be out. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s to low 60s during the evening hours.

Temperatures look to cool down even further Wednesday through Friday. Highs should be in the upper 50s to low 60s. There is a slight to 20% chance for rain Wednesday night through Friday. The reason we may see some precipitation is due to a situation called overrunning. This is when a warm airmass is forced over a cooler one. In this situation, you typically see lots of cloud cover, cool temperatures, and precipitation.

We look to warm up a little bit this weekend with highs reaching the upper 60s by Sunday. There is a 20% chance of rain due to an upper level low and some disturbances moving near the area.

Have a terrific Tuesday and a Happy Halloween!
