A Beautiful Weekend On Tap For Us

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had much cooler temperatures today thanks to a cold front that passed through the area late yesterday. Highs were in the mid 60s to low 70s. Windy conditions continued across the Big Country with sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts near 40 mph.

Winds are expected to calm down through the night, but remain from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph. With light winds, clear skies, and a dry airmass in place, we should see good radiational cooling. Lows will be in the low 40s with a few isolated low-lying areas possibly bottoming out in the upper 30s.

With high pressure in control over the area this weekend, it should be a beautiful one. Highs should be in the mid 70s to around 80 thanks to mostly sunny skies and winds from the west-southwest.

An upper level disturbance may move through the area on Monday. No rain is expected, but we should see more cloud cover. Highs are expected to be in the upper 70s.

A cold front looks to move through the area on Halloween. This will cool our highs back down to the upper 60s. Rain chances with the front look less than slight due to a lack of moisture.

Wednesday through next Friday look to be cool with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Have a super Saturday!
