Pleasant And Comfortable.....For Now

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

The picture perfect weather continued today as highs only managed to reach the low 80s again today after a cool start in the mid to upper 50s this morning. Dewpoints dropped down into the upper 40 to mid 50s this afternoon so it felt very comfortable.

The rest of the shortened work week should remain pleasant. Mostly sunny skies on Thursday should become partly cloudy on Friday. Highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 80s.

A couple of upper level disturbances should move across the area between Saturday and Monday. This means we could see some showers and thunderstorms on those days. The chance for rain is 20% to 30%. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s.

A weak cold front may arrive on Tuesday and keep a 20% chance of rain going through Wednesday. Highs will cool down a little bit into the low to mid 80s.

Tropical Storm Florence has strengthened a little bit today. According to the National Hurricane Center, its maximum sustained winds are 50 mph and its is moving to the west-northwest at 10 mph. The latest path projection has it continuing in this direction before turning to the north early next week. This would take the storm between Bermuda and the east coast of the U.S. We'll continue to keep you updated with this storm.

Have a terrific Thursday!
