Friday Moring Forecast!

Good Friday Morning! Hope you had a wonderful week, here is your morning forecast from your Morning Meteorologist Kristen Connolly~

Conditions looking beautiful for the beginning of your weekend today and tomorrow, highs will reach the low 90’s today and should warm up a bit for tomorrow reaching the mid 90’s, above average for this time of year. The only downside will be windy conditions because of a big trough associated with a low over the Western third of the country, other than that partly sunny skies!

Saturday into Sunday is where the big picture will change- the Low associated with the windy conditions should start to move closer and will bring a slight chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday although most of the rain should be between Sunday and into Monday. Temperatures will drastically drop from Saturday through Tuesday, with almost a 15 degree difference in highs, as the Polar Cold front should pass Sunday night into Monday.

After Tuesday temperatures should begin to warm back towards climo for this time of year with sunny skies associated with the next high and ridge, bringing dry conditions once again.

We are watching two storms in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Helene and Hurricane Gordon. Hurricane Gordon, our first major of the season has began to weaken with winds of down to sustained 110 mph and will have no effect on the US. We are still watching TS Helene as of right now she has sustained winds of 45 mph and is still far out in the Atlantic. What is of concern to us in Texas is Tropical Storm Lane. TS Lane has winds of sustained 65 mph and is forecasted to hit hurricane status before making landfall. With the direction it is moving it could bring added moisture into our own area.

Have a safe and terrific weekend everyone!
