A freeze warning is in effect for the Northern Concho Valley and Heartland for overnight. This area is likely to see a freeze. Expect a light freeze and areas of patchy frost across a good part of West Central Texas tonight.

* The Weekend/Next Week: Another cool day on Friday with a sunny sky and highs in the middle and upper 60s. A warming trend is expect for the upcoming weekend. Mostly sunny over the weekend and becoming partly cloudy into early next week. Highs in the middle 70s over the weekend and for early next week. Temperatures will cool back down into the lower 70s by Wednesday. Overnight lows in the upper 30s Saturday morning and climbing back into the 40s and 50s for the late weekend and into early next week.

* Time Change: Daylight Saving Time will end Sunday, November 7 at 2:00 AM and at that time we "fall back" an hour. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed that Saturday night or turn them back when you wake up on Sunday morning. In case your wondering we will lose that hour when the time changes on Sunday, March 13, 2011. The Abilene Fire Department would like to remind residents that while your changing the clock to also take the time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. It's also a good idea to check the batteries in your weather radio as well.
