Nice & Warmer This Weekend:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Abundant sunshine today and nice across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley. Expect highs in the lower 90s with a southeast breeze. Mostly clear tonight, great weather for high school football, with lows in the middle 60s. Temperatures will gradually warm into the middle 90s as we head through the weeeknd and expect a few more clouds around as well. Overnight lows will warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

* Rain chances are not looking promising for the early part of next week so the chance has been taken out of the forecast. We'll see another chance by the late part of next week as a cold front tries to work in from the north by Thursday and Friday. Highs next week into the middle 90s with lows 70s for overnight lows.

* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the hot and humid weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
