Hot & Dry Week Ahead:

Good Sunday Evening & Monday Morning from Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there on this Sunday! Chris Whited filling in for Randy Turner tonight so this blog update will cover tonight's forecast period and my morning forecast shift for Monday.

* A quiet Sunday night across the area with lows dipping into the middle 70s under mostly clear conditons. Winds will be out of the south about 10 to 15 mph.

* Expect a partly cloudy day across the Big Country Monday with highs in the middle and upper 90s with lows in the middle 70s overnight. We'll see the same conditions the next few days as well.

* The ridge is building back westward which will warm our daytime highs back to near 100° each afternoon and we'll see lows in the middle 70s each day. The high produces sinking air so other than a few clouds, rain chances will be surpressed for the extended period.

* Welcome To Summer: Summer officially arrived here in West Texas early Sunday morning at 12:45 AM Central Time. Get ready for another 3 to 4 months of hot weather!

* Join us on television this morning for the lastst on your forecast as well as news from around Abilene and the Big Country tonight on KRBC News Weekend at 5:00 & 10:00 PM and Monday morning on KRBC's Abilene Today at 6:00 AM and on Abilene Midday at 11:30 AM.
