Cool Temperatures This Weekend

From Chief Meteorologist Brandon Rector...

We had a pleasant day across the Big Country. Highs were in the mid 50s to low 60s, which is a little below average for this time of year. Skies were mostly sunny with light winds.

A cold front will move through the area overnight bringing us colder temperatures for the weekend. Lows tonight and Saturday night should be below freezing so be sure to protect your pets, plants, and pipes. Highs for Saturday are expected to be in the low 50s. Sunday should be a little warmer with highs in the upper 50s. Due to a lack of moisture, precipitation is not expected with this front. We will have breezy north-northwest winds on Saturday. Combine that with low relative humidty values tomorrow and we have an elevated fire danger. Please be careful and do all that you can to prevent fires.

Monday through Thursday of next week look dry with mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures. Highs should range from the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Another cold front looks to move through the area next Friday bringing cooler temperatures for the end of the work week. If we have enough moisture in place, precipitation is possible. We'll just have to wait and see until we get closer to that time period if we can get some rain from the front.

Have a super Saturday!
