More Hot & Muggy Weather:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Same old song and dance today when it comes to the weather pattern across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Nothern Concho Valley. High pressure still has its hold on the forecast. Expect a mostly sunny day with highs in the middle and upper 90s on this Thursday. Heat Index values will range from the upper 90s to the lower 100s this afternoon. Mostly clear, warm and muggy tonight with lows in the middle to upper 70s.

* The Weekend: High pressure stays the dominating weather feature for Friday and into the weeekend. Expect a mostly sunny sky across the area each day. Highs in the middle to upper 90s and lows in the middle to upper 70s. It will still feel muggy with a south to southeast wind and heat index values in the upper 90s and low 100s at times.

* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the hot and humid weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
