Sunny & Warmer Today, More Rain Chances Ahead:

Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...

* Cold start this morning and there are icy spots across the region so use extreme caution and allow yourself plenty of time heading to your morning destinations. Many schools and businesses across the viewing area running on delayed starts. That information is crawling at the bottom of the screen on KRBC television.

* The sunshine is back for today which will gradually melt off the snow and ice. Warmer today with temperatures back into the middle 40s. A few clouds return late tonight but not so cold with lows dropping into the middle 30s. A few more clouds in the area on Thursday with highs in the lower 60s. Another system moves in tomorrow night and Friday morning bringing a slight chance for a few rain showers early on Friday. Cooler on Friday with highs back in the lower 50s.

* Weekend: A few clouds on Saturday with highs in the middle 50s. Another system works into the area on Sunday and Monday. There will be a chance for rain both days but temperatures will be cold enough Sunday night and Monday morning that we could see a rain/snow/wintry mix across the area. Temperatures warm up by later in the morning on Monday to bring it back to just rain falling. Highs in the upper 40s Sunday and middle 40s on Monday. The overnight lows in the lower to middle 30s.

* The Winter Outlook: The Climate Prediction Center indicates a moderate El NiƱo pattern continues to bring West Central Texas a wetter pattern here in the winter months. Increased wintry precipitation is possible depending on temperature trends. Equal chances of above or below normal temperatures remain possible for the area.
