Lake Wind Advisory in Effect

From KRBC Chief Meteorologist Randy Turner ..

A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for Wednesday from 9:00am to 5:00pm for Abilene and Taylor County. Nolan, Jones and Haskell counties are also included in the Advisory and other counties may be added.

A vigorous area of low pressure coming out of the Western U.S. into the Rockies has caused our winds to increase. The low will push a cold front through the area Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Cooler temperatures, close to normal for this time of year, can be expected Thursday through Saturday.

I've added a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, but nothing widespread is expected at this time.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, very mild, low of 63. South wind 15 to 25.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy to mostly sunny, very windy, very warm, high of 84. Southwest and west wind 20 to 30 with higher gusts. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect.

Wednesday Night: A cold front arrives, partly cloudy, low of 45, wind shifts to the north.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, breezy, high of 65. North wind 10 to 20.

Thursday Night: Clear and cold, low of 39.

Friday: Sunny and 68.

Friday Night: Clear and 45.

Saturday: Sunny and 71.

Saturday Night: Clear and 50.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, slight chance for a late day thunderstorm, high of 73. Cold front Sunday night.

Monday: Partly cloudy, 65.
