6:30p.m. Update

Chief Meteorologist Craig Carnesi here...

The cold front is now enterring the Northern Big Country at this hour.

Here's an impressive temperature swing for you to show just how strong this cold front is...

Lubbock at 5 p.m., 86 degrees
Lubbock at 6 p.m., 64 degrees

Expect temperatures to drop very similarly to that here in the Big Country tonight. And don't expect highs to warm up much tomorrow. Our high temperatures could very well take place just after midnight tonight. Then temperatures could hover around the upper 40s to low 50s throughout the day Thursday.

Showers and thunderstorms will push through the Big Country tonight as well. Expect mainly showers through the day on Thursday as well.

I'll have more on your extended forecast later tonight.
