STORMS LIKELY TONIGHT

FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST RANDY TURNER ..

THUNDERSTORMS ARE IN YOUR FORECAST TONIGHT HERE IN THE KRBC VIEWING AREA, AND A FEW COULD BECOME SEVERE WITH DOWNBURST WINDS, HAIL AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. STORMS BEGAN DEVELOPING THIS AFTERNOON IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO, ON THE RATON MESA. THOSE STORMS SHOULD MATERIALIZE INTO A LINE OF STORMS, MOVE SOUTHEAST AND EVENTUALLY WORK THROUGH THE ENTIRE KRBC VIEWING AREA BY NOON TOMORROW MORNING.

THIS TIME OF YEAR IT IS COMMON TO SEE STORMS DEVELOP THIS WAY BUT REMEMBER THEY USUALLY ALWAYS PRODUCE STRONG, SOMETIMES DAMAGING, WIND SO STAY ALERT. AFTER THE STORMS PASS TOMORROW, THE WEATHER SHOULD BE CALM AND TEMPERATURES NOTICEABLY COOLER. GONG INTO THURSDAY, MAINLY DRY BUT THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY WE CAN'T RULE OUT ANOTHER AREA OF STORMS BUT THEY SHOULD MAINLY AFFECT AREAS TO OUR NORTH. THIS NIGHT TIME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY MAY PERSIST THROUGH FRIDAY BEFORE WE RETURN TO A DRY PATTERN.

TONIGHT: T-STORMS LIKELY, SOME SEVERE WITH HEAVY RAIN. LOW OF 69. EAST AND NORTHEAST WIND 10 TO 15 EXCEPT STRONG AND GUSTY AROUND STORMS.

WEDNESDAY: CLOUDS IN THE MORNING, PARTLY CLOUDY AFTERNOON. HIGH 92. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 TO 15.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY, ISOLATED STORMS, LOW OF 71.

THURSDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY AND 95.
