Overnight T-Storms Becoming Common

FROM THE KRBC WEATHER LAB ..

NO MAJOR CHANGES TO THE FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. THE WAY OUR UPPER LEVEL WINDS ARE SET UP, AND THE WAY STORMS ARE FORMING LATE AFTERNOON IN SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO AND NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO, I EXPECT MORE T-STORMS TO ADVANCE INTO THE BIG COUNTRY TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING, SOME WITH HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLY DAMAGING WIND AND HAIL.

THE SAME SCENARIO WILL LIKELY TAKE PLACE AGAIN LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING, AND TO A LESSER EXTENT FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.

WESTERN BIG COUNTRY COUNTIES EXPERIENCED LOTS OF RAIN LAST NIGHT, 2 TO 3 INCHES IN SPOTS, SO THEIR HIGHS TODAY WERE MUCH COOLER. OTHER PARTS OF THE BIG COUNTRY RECEIVED A QUARTER TO A HALF INCH.

TONIGHT: A 30% CHANCE FOR RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS, LOW NEAR 70. SOME STORMS SEVERE WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN AND DAMAGING WIND. OTHERWISE, EAST NORTHEAST WIND AT 10.

THURSDAY: MORNING SHOWERS END, THEN PARTLY SUNNY WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW 90'S.

THURSDAY NIGHT: LATE NIGHT STORMS AGAIN CARRYING INTO FRIDAY MORNING. LOW NEAR 70.
