FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST RANDY TURNER ...
THE HOT STREAK CONTINUED TODAY AND THE SAME BASIC PATTERN WILL DOMINATE BUT WE HAVE A COUPLE OPPORTUNITIES OVER THE NEXT TWO OR THREE DAYS TO SNEAK SOME RAIN INTO THE PICTURE.
FIRST, HIGH PRESSURE CONTROLS OUR WEATHER DURING THE SUMMER, DOWNWARD SINKING AIR LIKE A BUBBLE SITTING OVER US, KEEPING STORM SYSTEMS AWAY. BUT THIS WEEK THE HIGH LOOKS LIKE IT MAY DRIFT A LITTLE WEST WHICH WOULD ALLOW ANY STORMS NORTHWEST OF OUR AREA TO DRIFT INTO THE REGION. THAT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD HAPPEN TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING AND POSSIBLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING. THIS IS ALL PREDICATED ON STORMS DEVELOPING TO OUR NORTH AND MOVING IN. AS THE HIGH RESETS ITSELF CLOSER TO US BY THE END OF THE WEEK, WE RETURN TO HOT AND DRY WEATHER.
TONIGHT: AN ISOLATED STORM POSSIBLE, OTHERWISE PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A LOW OF 74. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 TO 15.
TUESDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A HIGH OF 97 AND AN ISOLATED LATE STORM POSSIBLE.
TUESDAY NIGHT: A THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP NORTH AND MOVE INTO THE BIG COUNTRY, A 30% CHANCE FOR RAIN AT THIS TIME. LOW NEAR 71.
WEDNESDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY, MID TO UPPER 90'S.
