Good Morning from KRBC Meteoroloigst Chris Whited...
* Another warm and windy day is ahead for the region but temperatures not quite as warm as we say on Wednesday. The region saw highs climb into the lower 90s yesterday with Abilene officially reaching 91° but today highs should only be in the middle 80s under a partly cloudy sky. Fire threat still elevated due to the gusty winds but the relative humidity values are a little higher today. Increasing clouds tonight and thunderstorms are expected to develop late as a dryline and cold front work over the area late. Some storms could be strong or could reach severe levels overnight and early in the morning. The SPC has a slight risk for the very far northern Big Country areas (north of U.S. 380) today and a slight risk over the far eastern counties and back into central areas of Texas overnight and on Friday.
* Storms should move out of the area in the morning after daybreak with clouds slowly decreasing into the day. Cooler on Friday with highs back into the lower 70s and pretty chilly Friday night with upepr 30s and lower 40s.
* The Weekend: Mostly sunny for Saturday with afternoon highs in the upper 70s. Much warmer weather returns for Easter Sunday with highs in the middle 80s. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s for sunrise services Sunday morning.
* Next Week: Sun and clouds start the week with temperatures warming back up into the upper 80s on Monday before another cold front arrives Monday night and Tuesday morning cooling us back down into the upper 70s for highs. One model is hinting at a small rain chance for Monday night along the front but I have decided not to include it in my forecast package for now. I may add it later today based on new model data.
