Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...
* A warm and breezy start to our day this morning with temperatures in the lower 60s across the area. Sunny today but by late afternoon a few high clouds will drift into the region. A windy day, especially this afternoon with highs in the upper 80s. A few spots could get to 90 across the area. The dryline will advance into the central areas of the Big Country this evening and cold front still expected to arrive late tonight. There is a slight chance for a storm or two, mainly across the eastern counties of the Big Country. Otherwise most other locations will be partly cloudy tonight with lows in the low 60s.
* The Weekend: Partly cloudy on Friday with highs in the middle 80s, still a bit breezy at times. Models have been having a hard time all week with the forecast for Saturday and Sunday. The new data this morning is bringing in more clouds and a better chance for a few thunderstorms on Saturday. There are quite a few weekend events around here that could be impacted by rain chances, the big one is the Dyess Big Country Airfest on Saturday. Temperatures are also forecasted to be cooler into the 70s with the clouds and rain chances in the area. Sunday looks dry with a few clouds and temperatures back around 80 in the area. Lows should be in the 50s over the weekend.
* Next Week: Just like with the weekend forecast the forecast models have been going back and forth on rain chances for next week. For now I am just going to mention the chance of a isolated storm early next week, otherwise partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s and lows overnight in the low 50.
* Drought Information: West Central Texas remains above normal on rainfall this year so no drought issues here locally at the present time.
