Good Morning from KRBC Meteoroloigst Chris Whited...
*** Red Flag Warnings are in effect from midday and into the early evening hours for the counties along and west of U.S. 283. This includes areas like Abilene, Sweetwater, Snyder, Roby, Anson, Haskell and Knox City. Another day gusty south and southwest wind along with low relative humidity values into the afternoon will elevate the wildfire danger across the central and western half of the Big Country and the Northern Concho Valley. ***
* The warmest day of the year (so far) is expect across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley as highs this afternoon climb into the lower 90s. Expect a mostly sunny and windy day, especially with the winds picking up around midday and into the afternoon. A few clouds will drift in late tonight but still breezy and mild with lows in the upper 50s. Partly cloudy and windy on Thursday with highs dropping back into the middle 80s. The next cold front arrives by Friday with a chance for showers and thunderstorms after midnight Thursday night and during the day on Friday. The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk for severe weather outlined for the eastern counties on Friday so we'll have to watch for the chance for strong storms. Temperatures cool down Friday with highs back into the lower 70s. Lows each night into the 50s expect Friday night when lows will be in the 40s.
* The Weekend: Mostly sunny for Saturday with afternoon highs in the middle and upper 70s. Much warmer weather returns for Easter Sunday with highs in the middle 80s. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s for sunrise services Sunday morning.
* Next Week: Sun and clouds start the week with temperatures warming back up into the upper 80s on Monday before another cold front arrives Monday night and Tuesday morning cooling us back down into the upper 70s for highs. Things look dry with the front early next week for now.
