MORE CHANCES FOR STORMS

FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST RANDY TURNER ..

THE STORMS STAYED AWAY TODAY BUT THEY ARE STILL IN THE FORECAST FOR LATE FRIDAY, LATE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT THANKS TO TWO COLD FRONTS COMING OUR WAY.

HIGHS TODAY TOUCHED 90 ALL AROUND THE AREA BUT WE SHOULD SEE 10 TO 15 DEGREES COOLER ON FRIDAY THANKS TO A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE AREA. AS IT DOES SO IN THE AFTERNOON, AREAS MAINLY EAST AND SOUTH OF ABILENE STAND A CHANCE TO SEE SOME THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP, STORMS WHICH COULD BE SEVERE.

ON THE HEELS OF THE FIRST FRONT IS ANOTHER FRONT LATE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. THAT FRONT HAS A BETTER CHANCE OF CAUSING STORMS AND RAIN ACROSS THE KRBC VIEWING AREA. AS ALWAYS THIS TIME OF YEAR, ANY STORM WHICH DEVELOPS MAY BECOME SEVERE.

ONCE THE RAIN MOVES EAST ON SUNDAY, WE SHOULD SEE A DRIER PATTERN WITH SLOWLY WARMING TEMPERATURES EARLY NEXT WEEK. SPEAKING OF TEMPERATURES, DOWNRIGHT COOL FEELING SUNDAY IN THE UPPER 60'S WHICH IS WELL BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

TONIGHT: AN ISOLATED STORM, OTHERWISE CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY, LOW OF 62. SOUTH WIND 15 TO 20.
FRIDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A COLD FRONT ARRIVING. HIGH AROUND 80 WITH A 20% CHANCE FOR AFTERNOON STORMS.
FRIDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY AND COOL, LOW 50'S, AN ISOLATED STORM POSSIBLE.
SATURDAY: MOST OF THE DAY PARTLY CLOUDY AND WARM BUT LATE DAY AND INTO SATURDAY NIGHT LOOK FOR THUNDERSTORMS TO INCREASE AROUND THE AREA. HIGH SATURDAY NEAR 80.
SUNDAY: COOLER WITH MORNING SHOWERS, HIGHS MID TO UPPER 60'S SUNDAY.
