From KRBC Chief Meteorologist Randy Turner ....
Afternoon showers and storms were already underway by 1:30pm across Coleman County dropping heavy rain in the city of Coleman. By 2:30pm, showers and storms were becoming more numerous in eastern Brown County, western Comanche County, all of Mills County and southwest to San Saba County.
The storms are developing along an old front and will continue to develop and die out during the course of the afternoon and evening.
We stand a chance in Abilene of seeing the hit and miss afternoon pop-up storms today and again Thursday. Friday, the western part of the viewing area has a slight chance for some afternoon storms.
This weekend, I've included some hit and miss storms again - then again early next week.
The main threat from afternoon summer storms will be dangerous lightning strikes, brief heavy rain which could lead to localized flooding and high wind gusts near the storms.
