Big Show Expected Thursday Night

From KRBC Chief Meteorologist Randy Turner .....

A stationary front was draped across the southern KRBC viewing area, roughly from San Angelo to Brownwood this evening, but no showers had formed.

There is also an upper level low in southern California which is the key to our next change in weather late Thursday and Thursday night.

As the low begins tracking east tomorrow and Thursday, strong upper level winds will move over our area. This upper level wind causes air to rise rapidly, and pulls moisture into the upper atmosphere where it cools, turns into clouds and eventually, should become thunderstorms.

This is a scenario we commonly see during the Spring storm season. This system is fairly strong and bears watching for a potential of severe thunderstorms, including damaging wind and large hail on Thursday night across a wide area of the Big Country....

Wednesday's weather will be good, with clouds increasing and highs in the upper 70's to low 80's areawide.

Thursday, more humidity in advance of our system, winds increase out of the south, storms build across West Texas and migrate into our area Thursday night.

Most of the rain should be gone by Friday noon, if not sooner.

No really cold air coming our way within the next seven days. Daily highs consistently in the upper 70's to low 80's. Upper 70's are normal for our area this time of year.

Don't forget you can get interactive radar live on your mobile phone on our website www.bigcountryhomepage.com.

Have a great Wednesday !!

Randy
