* High clouds from overnight storms over the western half of the state will drift across the area this morning. Expect a partly cloudy day ahead for the region with a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening across West Central Texas. Highs in the middle and upper 90s with overnight lows in the middle and upper 70s. Another slight chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the middle 90s under a partly cloudy sky.
* Late Week/Weekend: A cold front will arrive by Thursday night and Friday bringing in some cooler weather and also some more rain chances for late Thursday and also during the day on Friday. Highs on Friday and Saturday will be into the middle and upper 80s with overnight lows in the lower to middle 60s. Mostly sunny on Saturday and also on Sunday but late weekend temperatures climb back into the lower 90s.
* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the hot and humid weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
